Klaudia and Patrick are from Germany and have been to NYC several times. The day before they were married their family members surprised them by showing up also in NYC to be present at their elopement. I had such a great time photographing their elopement and our hike on the Brooklyn Bridge! ( so glad we went to the middle) -Laura
This is what the Bride Klaudia said below about her day :
“We had a fantastic day, great weather and experienced so many friendly people – a lot of positive energy! It was the best decision to elope to New York, though part of my family surprised me and it wasn’t an elopement but a wedding in the end 🙂
We got engaged two years ago around easter (2014). But there was no hurry to get married! My husband got a new job, I worked hard to get a promotion at my job – so we have been quite busy. We booked our vacation to New York this February (2016). And some weeks later we thought about getting married this year as I finally got my promotion.
It was really hard to find a nice place for this summer – of course we knew we were late 🙂 it was even harder to find a date to bring our families together! They still don’t know each other! Our family and friends are spread all over Germany. We never wanted that big wedding but wished for a small, romantic evening to share our love, good food and drinks. That’s why we decided to marry each other alone on the date we had on our mind (June 30) and make plans for a family dinner after it. My birthday is on June 28, his on June 29 – we made sure no one will forget the anniversary! It will always be our three days in a row and we hope to get on vacation every year to spend some days with just the two of us.
I got my dress here in Munich in a bridal shop, but I went to a tailor and decided to make some alterations as I am very tall and didn’t have any fun in that bridal store. I chose for a less sparkling waistbelt (now with nacre and little rhinestone instead of sequin) because I wanted to look more elegant. She Even tailored my top of lace. That was actually fun to chose the kind of lace that fits your skintone and your personality and of course it is Custom fit! And that is always a big deal when you are tall 🙂
I decided against a veil as our wedding was supposed to be an elopement without a ceremony in a church. I also wanted to keep my hair straight and natural.
After the ceremony and the pictures we finished our papers for Germany. Everytime was so nice and helping! I really enjoyed even this part. There was no time to get changed so we had to do all of it in our wedding outfits but people were so nice sending congratulations.
In the evening we went with the Family for dinner but I totally forgot the Name of the Restaurant!
It was a Perfect day and I Will Never forget how friendly everone was, how excited we were when we were getting ready in the morning and how everything turned out to be absolutely fine!
Thank you so much for attending our elopement and for making such great photos! We will recommend you and wish you just the best and success! “
