Christina and Ryan’s original wedding venue Old Field Club was affected by Hurricane Sandy. There was no electricty in the venue and they were pushed to pick a new venue in a short amount of time. They had to move the date over by a couple of days and I was happy to still be able to shoot their wedding due to the fact the date changed. Most wedding venues were booked up, they settled on Lombardi’s on the Bay. It wasn’t exactly a barnyard style wedding that Christina and Ryan wanted but they made do with they had and Lombardi’s did an excellent job accommodating them.
I started at Christina’s home, which had beautiful light in the backyard. I really wanted to incoporate the light somehow so I set up their ” reveal ” shot in the backyard of the home. I loved the fact that chickens were walking around and her dogs. ( Again this goes with my theory that you can make the most of where you shoot no matter where you are, you have to just think about what you can use in your surroundings.
We headed over to Lombardi’s for their ceremony and dinner where everyone partied the night away, fuji instant “polaroid” style shot graced the tables.
Some words from Christina :
Wonderful pictures! WEdding is the most memorable part of your life. That is why more planning is very important before this day will come.
All the planning in the world can’t protect you from a natural disaster.
