Jessica and Zane – Tullulah’s – Bay Shore, NY

For my friend of 5 years .. Jessica .. I wish you an amazing future in New Zealand, LOTR forever, I so enjoyed helping you plan out your wedding and shooting it. Thank you Vanessa — my 2nd Photographer for Jessica and Zane’s day.

Jess: “My favorite moment was walking down the aisle to my favorite song in the world, “Man in the Desert” by Yoko Kanno, and seeing Zane’s face for the first time. The song was It crescendo and I thought my heart would burst, so my dad and I speed-walked down the aisle because I couldn’t wait to get down there with Zane. I was also extremely happy with all of the special little moments and details: our bagpiper playing “The Blood of Cuchulainn” from The Boondock Saints movie, being barefoot on the beach for the entire ceremony (and making everyone else join us!), my brother’s amazing and heartfelt officiant’s speech, being very well taken care of by my incredibly talented friend and badass photographer Laura and our second-shooter Vanessa, our handpicked music playlist, my GLORIOUS custom-made green ombre dress with its ten-foot detachable train, my Dad wearing the Captain’s hat I bought him, my grandparents perfectly dancing the Lindy, my mom and I twisting wedding tradition and learning a Samba dance to Peter Gabriel’s “Shaking the Tree” as our mother-daughter dance, the hilarious family dance-off, and the perfect melding of our families and friends from across the country and around the world. It was seriously the most relaxed, intimate wedding, which was exactly what we wanted!

Zane: “The best part was seeing Jess walk down the aisle and when Jess’ dad shook my hand and passed her to me. That’s when I knew she was truly mine.”
