Laura and Chirag – NYIT De Servesky Mansion – Westbury, NY

We started out in Northport, NY  – had a fun journey down main street on a very, very windy day.. Did I mention it was probably one of the coldest days in a while. The wedding party bundled up for a bit and then ran out to do their photos.

Laura and Chirag met up before the ceremony near the marina, we then walked down to main street -then had double ceremonies! Hindu and a Catholic..

Designers
Chirag’s tuxedo was Calvin Klein
Laura’s dress was Priscilla of Boston
Laura’s bird cage veil was made by Tessa Kim, found on Etsy
Laura’s earrings were Miguel Ases
Vendors
Hindu Ceremony Decoration- Kalash Decor
Hindu Priest- Mr. Nikhil Trivedi
Bridesmaid Dresses- J.Crew ( LOVE)
Laura and Chirag described their  most favorite part…
“The very best part of our wedding day was the incredible heartwarming feeling you have when you see so many friends and family in the same room for the same purpose.
They traveled from all over the country and world to celebrate the love that Chirag and I share as we begin this new chapter of life together. It was essential for us to incorporate traditions from both of our backgrounds and to celebrate the ritual of marriage from both religious perspectives. Initially it seemed like an impossible task to pull off two ceremonies in two locations in a matter of hours. Yet every single vendor worked so hard to assure us it was possible. I’m so glad we were able to make it happen! Exposing our guests to the beautiful elements of the Hindu culture was worth all of the preparations.

Without the very patient staff of NYIT de Seversky Mansion, our incredible florist Diana from Petals, the insanely fun and talented Tim from DJ’s @ Work, the gentlemen of Kalash Decor, our brilliant Hindu priest, our incredibly supportive families and last but not least- the team from Laura Ryan Photography, it would not have been possible. If only we could go back and do it all over again….”

we found this awesome store on main street that allowed us so nicely to use as a backdrop for our photos …
I love this shot..
behind the scenes.. my 2nd photographer Allie got the nice shot of us working.. thats Tricia on the Right my assistant working hard..

I have to really thank my team – Tricia and Allie – For being amazing for my 2011 Wedding Season!!

  1. LAURA, I love every single one of these. You and your team did such an incredible job! I was nervous about how the wind would impact the pictures but you kept us calm throughout all of the madness. Walking up Main Street, going into shops and waving to friends driving by is a memory that I will always carry. It was the only “quiet time” Chirag and I shared during the day and I’m grateful that it happened.
From our first meeting I had a feeling you would be so easy to work with and you proved me right. Thank you thank you thank you!

  2. Laura & Chirag ROCK! These pics are amazing, totally captures the vibrance & love in the air that day! Thanks so much for sharing them with us 🙂

  3. The bride and groom look so happy in these photos. The bride looks stunning in white and in the beautiful colours of her sari! Especially love the photos from the Hindu ceremony!

  4. Wow, Laura, this truly looked like a fantasy/princess wedding. The photographer did an excellent job portraying the joy of the day! Very unique shots, and I loved all the colors of the Hindu ceremony. Your dress had a very “antiquey” feeling, a throwback to times gone by, very elegant and classy, which so matched the charm of Northport Village. Everything looked absolutely PERFECT, and your venue could not have been nicer! Thank you for sharing your blog with me. I wish you and Chirag a lifetime of happiness together. May your lives be as beautiful as your wedding day! With Love, Eleni Russell
