Ahh Tammy & Aleks.. Tammy and I go a long way back . We met at Wantagh High School in the mid 90s. We were in Drama Club together I remember she liked Tori Amos and she was a Indie Music Chic! Then back in 2008, 2009 I ran into Tammy several times at Starbucks when I was meeting clients. When Tammy became engaged herself in 2011 she contacted me right away to discuss her wedding and engagement plans. We then shot this fun and unique engagement session in Long Island City the day the Hurricane Irene was on its way. ( it was a beautiful day before the storm)
Fast forward 2012 – I was particularlly excited to shoot at her venue The Chateau at Coindre Hall, an old gold coast estate. ! This venue is both, vintage columns, French archtecure is beautiful and the venue layout is pretty unqiue in which the space surrounds a courtyard. Tammy’s dress – J crew with a brooch that was sewed into her dress. This brooch was from her Grandmothers wedding dress. More to come !!

1. “My favorite part of the wedding was seeing all of our family and friends smiling at us throughout the night and feeling this amazing sense of happiness! Also, me and Aleks really liked the “alone time” that we got when we took pictures with you J Really, you spent like the first few moments of our marriage with us- when you think about it! And you did it with such focus and respect for our experience! I loved how you were not afraid to tell people to get out of the shot, either LOL!”
2. Vendors
Veil and head pieces from “Basia Custom Headdresses and Accessories”… she’s on the Upper West Side, no website but she’s reviewed everywhere! She’s so amazing, just her and her little dog- she’s an older Polish woman who has a really creative vision and works with you to design it all! Really magical opportunity working with her!
“Flowers by Rosemarie”- “she does it all for love and the fun of it! Her set up is behind her residence and she works with your budget. “
“For undergarments I went to Bra-tenders in Hell’s Kitchen- you have to make an appointment but then an employee works exclusively with you for a custom fitting. They have a cat J Also they have signed camisoles from Uma Thurman and Kate Winslet (to name a few) hanging up in the dressing room- so fun!!”
“For my bracelet I used Etsy.com (also got embroidered handkerchiefs for my parents and a copper engraved guitar pick for our officiant)”
“For our cake we went to Lulu’s in Scarsdale– it was an extra special gift to us from a friend who wanted us to try this specialty boutique (that’s the place that did Beyonce and Jay Z’s cake)”
“My dress I found through JCrew– I LOVED their bridal collection… it was a hard decision to make but my dress, the Cecelia, was classic and comfortable; most important to me was to be comfortable at my own party and DANCE!”
“Aleks and his father, my father, and Nicky got their tuxes from Town and Country Tuxedo in Wantagh and they were really great!”
“THE NEON SIGN- Jantec Neon of North Carolina did this (Jantecneon.com). We were so happy with how it came out! They must’ve drawn up like 5 designs for us and would not stop until we arrived at what we wanted “
“We definitely made the right move choosing Coindre Hall! The night went so fast though!! But the food was great, I really liked the different room approach to the party (you know, separate ballroom and dining room) because I feel like my guests had more options to find places to hang out that they were comfortable with. This works well if your party has a lot of younger people and a lot of older people. “
